Trauma Informed Approaches for Providers
2 Credit Hours
This 2-hour course provides an overview of trauma informed practices for early childhood educators. Information includes defining trauma, potential signs and triggers of trauma, the ACE study, practices of trauma informed organizations, and trauma informed classroom practices. This course falls under Interaction, Relationships and the Environment 4: Designs learning environments and activities supportive of healthy development and learning. The learning objectives for this course are:
- I can incorporate developmentally appropriate practices in the EC environment.
- I can accommodate individual children’s needs in the classroom.
- I can encourage positive expression of emotions.
- I can use knowledge of behavior management to design EC environments.
Upon enrolling in this course, you have 7 days to complete all content and activities.

She has deep convictions about providing a rigorous education, and believes it is possible for every teacher and student to be successful when they are given the knowledge, support and resources to implement strategies with fidelity.
